Social Networking Software Gives Schools with Young Students and Alumni a Safer Place to Interact

Faynet, a version of the Campus 2.0 social networking software, is adopted early and often by hundreds of Fay School alumni around the world. Campus 2.0 social networking software quickly demonstrates that it can be a significant part of The Fay School’s alumni development strategy.

Southborough, MA (PRWEB) April 26, 2006 -- Faynet, a version of the Campus 2.0 social networking software, is adopted early and often by hundreds of Fay School alumni around the world. Campus 2.0 social networking software quickly demonstrates that it can be a significant part of The Fay School’s alumni development strategy. Fay alumni use Faynet to network, form groups, plan events, and interact with each other. Current students, parents, and faculty can also participate in the secure environment.

The primary objective for Campus 2.0 at Fay is to extend Fay's influence beyond the borders of its campus by reconnecting former students with the current school and its values. Since Faynet is available only to the Fay community, parents of students and alumni find comfort in knowing that their children can benefit from social networking software without the risks of commercial providers like myspace and friendster.

Another objective of Campus 2.0 is to give Fay a new way to add value at different stages of the lives of its alumni. The early results at Fay are extremely promising. Over 400 alumni registered within weeks after launch. Users ranged from Class of 2005 to Class of 1934 and hailed from 26 different countries. Users have already formed over 500 different groups within the networking community and posted close to a 1000 messages to each other. In the early stages, five events were planned by alumni in Boston and New York City.

Jeremy Cramer, Director of Alumni Affairs at Fay School, notes, "The early activity on Faynet really underscores how much people want to remain a part of Fay School's community after graduation. Faynet will be part of our long term development strategy but it has the potential to be so much more. The ROI is already apparent within months of implementation."

"We're thrilled. Campus 2.0 will certainly help Fay maintain its relationships with former students. Ultimately, renewing and strengthening these relationships will have a significant impact on Fay's fundraising capabilities. It's a great example of how a nonprofit can apply emerging technology, in this case social networking software, to advance its mission." added Anna Bremner, COO & Co-Founder of Blue Sky Collaborative.
