Why Walk Against Hunger?

In Connecticut, 390,000 people do not have enough food to eat.

Let 2010 be the year that YOU make a difference! Join thousands of other Connecticut residents at one of the three Annual Walks Against Hunger. Funds raised through this event benefit more than 650 food-assistance programs throughout Fairfield, Litchfield, New Haven, New London, Middlesex and Windham counties to provide food to people in need.

Remember every $5 you raise enables us to provide more than 17 meals – and hope for a better tomorrow – to someone in need.

Every Step You Take Makes a Difference
  • One third of those who receive food assistance are children
  • 42% of people served by CFB have to choose between paying for food and paying utilities
  • Money raised goes directly to providing groceries and meals to Connecticut residents, including children and seniors.

Connecticut Food Bank Connecticut Food Bank's mission is to alleviate hunger. In 2009, Connecticut Food Bank distributed 18.7 million pounds of food to food-assistance programs, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and child and adult day programs. Today, Connecticut Food Bank—the largest centralized source of donated, emergency food in Connecticut—distributes 37 tons of food every business day.
