A special evening of hope, gratitude and inspiration, working to save the lives of mothers and babies around the world

Despite being one of the oldest diseases on record, preeclampsia - a pregnancy-related disorder - remains one of the leading causes of mothers and babies dying around the world. New moms and babies represent one of the major patient groups in need of life-saving blood transfusions. This year's 7th annual Saving Grace dinner gala is a unique collaboration between two complementary and vital organizations- The Foundation for America's Blood Centers and the Preeclampsia Foundation- delivering solutions. All monies raised will be shared equally between the two organizations.

Preeclampsia is a life-threatening disorder that occurs only during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Pregnant women and babies are one of the population groups most in need of blood transfusions. Consider...

In the U.S., a woman is diagnosed with severe preeclampsia every 6 minutes.
Worldwide, preeclampsia claims the lives of an estimated 500,000 babies and 76,000 mothers each year.
Every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. needs a blood transfusion.
38,000 pints of blood are needed each year in the U.S. alone.
There is no substitute for blood. It simply must be donated.
Preeclampsia is a key risk marker for women's heart disease.
Half of all pregnant women do not know preeclampsia's warning signs.
Less than 8% of those eligible to donate blood actually do so.
