Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas
After 7 weeks in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), Christopher was able to come home and is now an active 4 year old. When Christine was pregnant with her daughter Katie, she made it a little farther to 35 weeks including being on bedrest in the hospital for 2 weeks.
Christine says, ”While pregnant, the only thing I read about it was that it only happens to a small percentage of women and it was nothing really to worry about. I completely disagree with that and think that there needs to be more awareness of what could possibly happen.“
Today, the Lara family is the 2013 Dallas Promise Walk Mission Family, sharing their story of survival to help educate others about the long-term impact of preeclampsia on families. You can read Christine's full story here.
